Real ID Announcement Part of Plan, Says Blizzard
Blizzard says that it had been seeking feedback when it proclaimed that real names would be mandatory on its forums.
Earlier this month, Blizzard surprised pretty overmuch everyone by announcing that systematic to use its forums in the future, populate would have to use the Tangible ID service and post under their real names. The idea proved less-traveled and Blizzard changed its intellect just days later, only senior administrator Michael Ryder said that the announcement had been part of a litigate, and a successful same at that.
Ryder said that Blizzard put a pot of standard into the views of its players, and always sought the opinions of the community before it made this soft of determination. Blizzard hadn't been surprised to meet feedback, he said, as that was exactly what it had wanted.
Ryder said that the treat had been successful in this illustration, and Blizzard had been able to take the residential area's feedback and consider it along with all the some other factors before making its final decision. "Ultimately we decided we would not go in that counselling for the nonce," he said. "And see if in that respect were unusual slipway we could address the object we had, which was to improve the forums generally."
